Our Journey

Club History

From the streets of Nkulumane to the elite leagues of Zimbabwe

The Beginning

FC Talen Vision is a young club compared to some of its more illustrious neighbours around it in Bulawayo. However, it is arguably a young club pulling punches and standing toe to toe with the big boys.

FC Talen Vision was incorporated in January 2013 when the current president and vice president Khumbulani Nkomo and Thembelihle Moyo purchased the franchise and a controlling stake from the then called Otrick Spurs from the current chairman Otrick Siziba. The club was renamed FC Talen Vision at this point.

The name came about through a Freudian slip by the registering authority at the time. When the registration was being processed, the obvious 't' was missed out and the club was registered as Talenvision instead of Talentvision. The name stuck from there and was never corrected, and here we are today with Talenvision.

A Community Vision

The name was the brainchild of the vice president who had a vision to identify talent in the local community and as visionaries and community builders, the name Talenvision was born.

The president recalls many moons ago as a child listening to the radio as football games were being played, and recalls that this is where his passion for football came from. The president has always loved football and back in the days supported Eagles which played their home games at White City Stadium.

It was only natural for Talen Vision to return home and play their home games at White City Stadium as well. The club's birthplace is the Nkulumane district, more specifically the Phekiwe Beer Hall.

Building Communities

The president remembers back in the late 90's when it was common place in the area for children to be involved in drinking alcohol, smoking, sniffing glue and taking drugs. This resulted in a high level of crime.

As part of their vision to be community builders, it was only natural for FC Talen Vision to return to the roots, where it all started. So even today, the FC Talen Vision Academy is still based in Nkulumane.

The Under 14's, Under 16's and Under 18's still practice in the field next to Phekiwe Beer Hall, using football as a tool to transform young lives and build a better future for the community.
